Hiring a family photographer is easy. (I promise!)

1. View My Portfolio

I have photographed over 700 families in South Carolina and beyond. Check out my Portfolio to see a small sampling of those images - from lifestyle newborn sessions to families at the beach, I've photographed every type of family in a diverse set of locations. See if my style is a good fit for your family.

2. Understand My Pricing

All sessions include about an hour of shooting time (or 20 minutes for Mini Sessions), editing, a download of high-resolution digital files and a print release. You can print wherever you like, but you can also order professional, archival-quality prints directly from your online gallery on my website. Check out pricing info here.

3. Check availability and book

Depending on the location, sessions are around sunrise and sunset. Popular dates book up fast, but sometimes I can get you on my schedule just a few days out. If I'm booked, never fear - I know all the best photographers in Charleston and will give you a list of recommendations. Once we have a day I'll send you a contract to secure your date and we'll plan your perfect session! Your balance is due 2 weeks before the session. How to book? Send me an email here!

How far in advance should I book my family session?

Certain times of year book out far in advance (June and July for beach sessions; the week of Thanksgiving for extended family portraits), but you just never know. Sometimes last minute bookings work out just fine, so please reach out!

Can I print photos from my digital files?

Yes! All sessions include personal usage rights and access to all the high-resolution digital files via download.

What does a photo session cost?

Mini sessions (20 minutes) start at $490 for up to 6 people and full 1-hour sessions are $790. Add $20 per person after 6. Sessions are all inclusive - no sales sessions and you get the digital files. You can read more about my pricing here. 

What if it rains?

This is a legitimate concern here in Charleston, especially in the summer months! I hold several mornings and evenings open for reschedules each week in case of rain. The forecast here in the Lowcountry is not very accurate in the summer. It's very normal to see a 50% chance of thunderstorms every day! I will start watching the weather 24 hours before your session and keep track of the hourly forecast the day of. If the weather is questionable we will make a decision at least 4 hours before your session. If you can stay flexible on the time and have a day in mind for a rain backup, that always helps!

I've never been to Charleston - where should we take photos?

No worries! I have lived in Charleston for over 20 years and know all the scenic locations around town.
